I'm eating nothing but cereal and fruit at work. Breafast and lunch. Then I go home and eat whatever I want for dinner.

Getting good doses of all the vitamins from the cereal, high fiber, calcium from the milk (skim), and I don't have to skip anything I like at dinner.

Down 5 lbs in 8 days now :) Not to mention the money I'm saving from not buying lunch.

Do you really need all that sugar for breakfast and lunch, cause that's what cereal and fruit is.... sugar! You should get adequate protein in each of those meals before you rob yourself of muscle.

Protien comes at dinner with the meat. It's working really well, and the sugar content in Total and Smart Start isn't really very high at all.

I don't see how this is different from any other low-calorie, low-fat diet.

I mean, I'm glad it's working for you and all.

this "diet" really depends on what types of cereal you eat.

I can totally see something like this happneing

"I tried it for a month and ate nothing but cookie crisp and reeses peanut butter cup cereal and gained 20 pounds and have gotten sick 3 times"

It's been so hard for me to weight gain. It's been about 3 days and I've only gained 2 lbs. At least my body fat percentage is going down...wheeeeeee

Anyway, as long as you exercise (weight gain/loss + cardio) daily and avoid bad fats/excess glucose, you should be fine. Eat more or less than the recommended 2000 calories per day depending on your goal.

I lost over 50 pounds a little over year ago, and I primarily ate Fruit Loops in the mornng... LOL. But that was just for breakfast.

I can eat cereal every day, it's super easy to make, it's cheap, and I can keep several boxes at work.

I'm doing this because I've lost the time I need to exercise on a regular basis. I figure cereal is like a wonder food since it has everything you need in a low calorie package, and it's good enough to eat everyday.

I wonder if this would work for breakfast lunch and dinner... and instead of milk, I bet rice milk would be even better (I can't drink soy milk, too sensitive to the phytoestrogen).

This is a variation on the "eat less / exercise more" diet plan. This variation is called "eat less".

Congratulations you have hit on one of the two criteria for a succesful and healthy diet plan.

Not just the low calories, but also other things they put inside cereal that might be helping you to increaes your metabolism.

And like I said it's something I could eat everyday, it's cheap, and it's filling. Regular "diet" food tends to taste terrible and costs 3x as much as "fat food" :) Just thought I'd pass this along to people that have problems dieting.
