Was heading into town earlier tonight. Raining, poor visibility as I was passing a semi. Next thing you know, there's another semi that veered into the median & flipped.

Close call with that semi & I continued my evening thinking "what if I was alongside THAT semi instead." 10 seconds made the difference - and the 10 seconds that I was delayed when an ass pulled out right in front of me, just before I got to the onramp.

Then, I just found out - that semi that rolled - was hauling 45,000 pounds of explosive material (per reports on the scanner). Had it detonated...

3 1/2 hours later, and obviously the highway is still closed, hazmat, etc. on the scene.

Glad to hear you're ok.

Easy to get shaken up after near-misses like that.

Yeah man, its so crazy to think that a matter of seconds, or what you did previously to that event changes the outcome entirely.

Quick, what is the probability of that set of circumstances happening?

It would have been cool to go out with a bang.

No kidding. I don't want to die, but going out because a truck carrying 45,000 pounds of explosives fell on you and then exploded is pretty hardcore.

This.

If I have to die early, make it something that is just utterly shocking. A rollercoaster's wheel assemblies all giving way at once and the train flying some crazy distance before smacking into the ground below. :)

How about driving along near a railroad with a train doing its thing, and a plane crashes into or near the train, causing the train to derail and ram into your car?
Wait, in fact - if my cards say death is coming for me, THAT is the way I want to go.
Just so they can make a news story, SOMEWHERE, with the headline "Plane, Train, and Automobile".

Nah, you need to be in a a crash with a firetruck, ambulance, and policecar.

Glad to hear it wasn't something worse ... I've had a couple of those incidents, though granted, neither of them included 45000 lbs of explosives ...
