All of that information is publicly available. Making it easy to get on the web doesn't change the fact that anyone can go down to their courthouse and look that information up.

If you ever watch one of those Hollywood gossip shows, they use public record databases like this one a lot to get the facts on celebrities.

Actually I believe you can even obtain the papers filed.

Also, have you ever heard of a little website known as the SmokingGun? Most of their stories are based on publicly released records that they obtain, most of them a lot more damning than divorce and marraige dates.

you would be suprised what is public information now
There is little more "now" that hasn't always been public information. It just required some leg work or mailing some letters.

I once requested by mail the driving record of a person I wanted to locate. For $20 in record keeping fees, I got all their moving violations, motor vehicle violations, accident records, the locations where these offenses occurred, the number of 'points' on their driving record, the vehicle(s) currently registered in their name, and the latest home/mailing address on record with the State.

If I went to the courthouses where some of their offenses occurred, I probably could have found the SS# on some of the court documents. With their SS#, I can get the works.

You would be amazed at what a professional letter and a check can accomplish.
