Whoa!! IMAP kicks butt!

I was having trouble getting Outlook to use my .mac email properly in POP3 mode so I configured it through IMAP.

I never realized how incredibly useful IMAP is. You can stay connected to the server, it downloads headers only by default, and you can keep your in/outbox synced with multiple computers. I just came home to see all my sent emails from my laptop already waiting in my outlook Sent box!

Too bad my main email account (netidentity) doesn't work with this.

does anyone know how to get spam blocking to work with imap? cuz the spam filters only get applied on my pop3 accounts and not my imap one (Norton Internet Security w/ Outlook Express)

The new version of Opera does a good job of seperating spam from real e-mails.

Use a REAL firewall with a white list instead of a black list...

Too bad it isn't available for any of the OS's i use... 🙁 i have to use my own spamfilter in freeBSD...

Any good pay email servers that support IMAP?

I like my current one because the domain is my last name, but I wouldn't mind switching...it's starting to get spammed up.

UW undergrad here. Our computing division is pretty darn decent (minus the whole fiasco over the worm a few weeks ago - but understandable). Classics and rhetoric majors own you all!!!!😀

So, how smart is netidentity...register everyone's last name and sell it to them.
