Yeah, I really want a freaking Mustang! So I'm looking on autotrader (radius of 150 miles- 2000 edition) and I find this one listing. I check the phone number for the hell of it (amazing price...like scary) and it's a local number! Then I go to switchboard.com to see who this person is, turns out that the guy lives on the street adjacent to mine (I'm on the corner of this street and that one)! He lives like a few houses away- his son was our paperboy a few years back! LOL

/enter munchkins singing "It's a small world after all"

:)

Ya...but I have no freaking chance of getting one at the moment...hopefully I'll be able to get one next spring. :)

yah many stangs that are cheap are wrecked. Guess the fools don't learn to drive a muscle car :)

I went to a dealer once, and 3 of their used "good price" stangs all had bodywork that was evident.

Any good mechanic or body shop can identify bodywork by inspection real quick up on the rack..

I would suggest careful consideration when making a purchase like this. The right choice could make you a very happy guy in the long run... but a bad decision could put you in for a serious engine rebuild when you least expect it particularly if you don't take the right precautions.

This website:

Can give you a general understanding on the fair market value of what you are looking at.

But seriously, take precautions. Find a mechanic you can trust, make it a prerequisite that the car gets a run down by YOUR CHOSEN mechanic before you buy it. That 75-100 bucks you spend to get it checked out may end up saving you in the long run.

It is too bad there aren't more people like you considering a true american car over a foreign import.
