Been years since I had to do that but the fucithalmic acid ointment was not covered by the government. The pharmacist asked me if I still wanted it with my other prescriptions (I have a viral conjunctivitis, damn cold got into my eyes) as it is $19.86 but I said yes and put it on the old Mastercard. I may not absolutely need it right now but I am out of it and if my keratitis returns (as it is wont to do every few months) , I'll be happy to have some home already rather than trod the streets half-blind on the way to the neighborhood clinic.

Better safe than sorry.:)

For years I paid $180 for 9 Imitrex, $165 for 8 Relpax. Finally got some decent coverage and its not as bad though...

I generally have to pay a portion for prescriptions, like $20; my insurance company covers most of the cost of prescriptions. Since I haven't had a prescription (haven't needed one) since 1999 I'll just gloat in the fact that I keep a lot more of my income without communized medicine.

Yeah, $20 isn't too bad, tho might seem strange if you don't normally pay for them. :)

My current insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) pays 75%, I pay 25%. I've got 3 name brand prescriptions, and put out ~$75/month for my share, BCBS covers ~$225. Doesn't bother me, though, as I'm only paying ~$50 every 2 weeks for my insurance (my employer pays the rest). Pretty good deal, imho.......I pay out $100, they pay out $225! ;)

Best one I had, though, was the coverage I had back in the 90's, where I paid $2/prescription, regardless of what it was, good for any prescription. :D

I don't have that kinda coverage here.

It's obviously because Eastern Canada is evil.

Truly.

I get 80% prescription coverage through work though, so it's not too bad. I don't have to pay for any of the insurance premium either.
