I was able to see his show here is San Diego a few years back. He was really funny, he had me and my wife cracking up the whole night.

He will be missed.

and i really dont understand how anyone can think hes was not funny, he was hands down one of the 5 funniest commedians ever. i dont see how you could even argue against that.

also Sarah Silverman is not funny, even ATOT hated joke stealing Dane Cook is funnier then she is

Search on the peoples names that don;t think he is funny and you see the common link is religion for them.

GC is one of the greatest ever.

I was kind of surprised when I read the article this morning. I say kind of because he had been battling health problems for a few years. I didn't always find his later comedy funny, but his early stuff was hilarious. Even his later stuff still showed a sharp mind and quick wit.
The article referenced his Playboy interview in 2005:

"Carlin told Playboy in 2005 that he looked forward to an afterlife where he could watch the decline of civilization on a "heavenly CNN."

"The world is a big theater-in-the round as far as I'm concerned, and I'd love to watch it spin itself into oblivion," he said. "Tune in and watch the human adventure."

Sounds like he's gone in search of that ringside seat...

He wasn't funny, but a soul lost is always saddening. :(

Indeed. Not funny in the slightest. Hope he found peace in the end.

His jokes hit a little too close to home?

Dunno. I never heard any jokes, just an old boring guy cursing alot. Sarah Silverman is funny, and way more offensive if I could be offended.

Someone who thinks Sarah Silverman is funnier than George Carlin. wtf is this world coming to.

2nd, that girl is annoying....

Just heard the news this morning and my jaw dropped. VERY sad, and a huge loss. The guy was great and a legend. My only regret is that I wish I could have seen him live at least once. :(

Very sad day indeed.

I haven't laughed at a single Carlin skit yet... care to try to fix that?

Oh and since someone's going to say I'm obviously some religious fanatic, I couldn't give a rat's ass about religion. As long as you don't hurt anybody else and don't bother me, do what you will.

Rather ironic isn't it? He was much smarter, more successful, and did more for this country than you ever will. I will miss him pissing off idiots like you.

RIP.
