Whoa! FedEx truck in St. Louis blew up!

I'll bet anyone fifty bucks that the packages are still in better shape than when they normally show up at my door.

Apparently a semi type FedEx truck was pulling two trailers worth of mail. Something possibly IN the first cargo trailer exploded and pretty much completely destroyed the trailer. I don't think the driver was injured and it didn't appear to cause damage to the truck.. just the trailers.

LOL

I hope for real though, it was just one of those "freak" accidents, and that noone is hurt.

Man, they ruin everything for everyone. Now its going to be even more of a pain in the ass to ship things. I wish the movie Swordfish was true, I think its the only concept that would work...

Where at in St. Louis?

I'm leaving work in about an hour...

Hope traffic isn't fvcked up by then.

Local news had this on their website:

(KSDK) -- Part of Interstate 270 is shut down at 367, after a fire involving a Federal Express truck. Witnesses at the scene say the tractor trailer has been split in half. It's unclear what caused the accident, but there are reports of an explosion.

I-270 in St. Louis, I heard it's the NW side of town.. don't know the area though..

FedEx just confirmed with FoxNews that both the people in the front Cab, Driver and Passenger are safe. Anyone with packages... hope you had insurance!

from http://www.thekansascitychannel.com/news/1746082/detail.html

"The Missouri Highway Patrol tells ABC News Radio, it was an accident. Apparently the truck swerved to avoid another vehicle, hit something and its fuel line broke."

Yeah sure - it just exploded from a fuel line break

- looks like the tractor is fine - wouldn't have that been the thing to "explode" if it were fuel related? - jeez

PICS

There are conflicting reports here in St. Louis. Reportedly an eyewitness said that there was no collision, while other local stations report that the truck hit a telephone pole(?)

Also, both drivers of the truck are reportedly unharmed. It seems that nobody has been injured.
