Whoa! Blue Angels "bumped" at our air show....

It could've been bad... I didn't go cuz the weather wasn't good so I don't have any pics. (Millville, NJ) But in yesterdays paper it had it there. It stated that the Blue Angels had to pause their performance because after pulling away from a maneuver, one of them noticed "blue paint on his canopy." Yikes. During the shows they put on, they fly like 12-18in apart. I had the unfortunate chance to see a HUGE airshow disaster when I lived at Ramstein, Germany back in 1988. The Italian Tricolori air team crashed 3 planes doing a "pierce the heart" trick. Like 85 people died and 400 injured at that one. I'll never forget that!! They show it on those shows like RealTV all the time...

That's crazy..

I remember doing a physics question that involved their angles and speeds. It showed that pilots' reaction times had to be less than 1/2 a second to even avoid hitting a small hill at a 15degree incline.

That would really suck to be at an even like that. I'm surprised you didn't quit going to air shows.

i've seen one where a plane cuts another one in half right behind the pilot.
