that's cool. might try it on my samurai with 150k miles. kinda scared though. i think the sludge is keeping it together.

Leave em be. Where do you think all that crap that washes off goes? It circulates back through the engine, which could be more harmful than the stuck on sludge. Also, sometimes, that sludge is the only thing holding the seals together. You might end up with some oil leaks, or hemhorraging, worse.

It goes into the oil filter. Read the application.

ROFL! Oil flushes are one of the biggest rip-offs in the automotive market. Yes, some of the crap it breaks down ends up plugging your oil filter...until it gets to a point where it bypasses the filter. Some of it circulates thru the oil galleys and plugs them up, or other tiny passages in the engine...
But, Hey, it's not my engine, so go ahead...

you want to buy into their hype...go ahead. Like I said, it's not my engine...BUT, just FYI, I've run my gasoline engines well over 200K without ever flushing them, and NEVER had any kind of oil related problems. Just use a quality oil and filter, and change them regularly, and that takes care of most of the problem...

i'd rather live with a ticking lifter than have to worry about the crud growing under my valve covers falling off.

Yeah, that should be ok. However, when buying a used car, it's something to keep in mind. My mom's Rav4 already has 50k miles on it and it's only been using non-synthetic oil (cheapest one at Valvoline).

LOL, that's not gonna be happening anymore. It's gonna be Castrol Syntec from now on.

This product MIGHT be OK, but I remember Slick 50 and all the other "miracle PTFE additives" that were pure junk...and ruined many engines. Dealerships and oil change places love to sell the unsuspecting oil flushes. Pure profit for them, and do little for the life or performance of an engine.

Yeah, I had the site RMS13.COM and I originally set out to prove/disprove the claims put forth by the maker of this product (they were pretty wild). I pissed the guy off so much that he canceled the order I placed and I had to buy from a user on the BITOG forums.

Anyhow, I had extremely low compression on my engine but it was low across all 4 cylinders with a spread of only ~ 8 psi. I suspected stuck piston rings given the state of the engine. My site (long since gone) detailed the progress over something like 9000 miles and the result was an improvement in compression of about 50 - 60 psi per cylinder. I went from far below specs to well within them. Again I suspected stuck rings and not mechanical damage.

Actually - I have a friend, (an ex-examining-observer-motor-racing-marshal), who had his car 'slick-50-eyed', and I can tell you that it worked - granted he had it done by some people who knew what they were doing though, so YMMMV...

??? 'slick-50-eyed'??? WTF is that. Slick50 is pure snake oil in its most pure form.
