Whoa, a new fan-made Wing Commander game?

I've made it a little deeper into the main campaign. If this was a game that I'd paid for I'd call it decent, but for a free product it's great. I feel like they've done a pretty good job of making the atmosphere feel dark and kind of desperate. As with all the Wing Commander games though I've thought the vulnerability of cap ships is a little ridiculous. Why bother even building destroyers or frigates if they can be one-shot killed with a torpedo?

I got to see my first real cap ship battle in the mission where the Hermes battle group needs to fight through to the Vega jump point. That was pretty cool, although for some reason my missiles didn't want to lock on to enemy targets a lot of the time. I also wish I'd been able to spend more time watching the big ships fighting each other rather than just trying to survive.

it crashes on my machine instantainiously.

it really seems to hate to me, I triend single 1080p instead of eyefinity too.

maybe it hates xfire

i'm sure it would work well enough on a single card. it's a 13 year old engine (plus tweaks) after all...

There is a pretty decent looking space combat game on Kickstarter called Starlight Inception.

I've been sooooo beyond let down by space sims since Independence War 2 that I just can't muster any faith to support this project. I wish them the best and hope they succeed, but I just can't back it at this point.

Also, after reading that page I get the sense the developer might be trying to pander a bit to more hardcore gamers to better acquire funding while his overall philosophy and design experience is pretty much the opposite.
