No matter what he looks like or how much he makes, I will love him all the same.

We have been together for some time now - through impoverished times when we were living on ramen noodles and lentils, and in better times when we are both earning a comfortable income.

We have seen each other at our worst, sick and snotty in bed, and we have seen each other at our best, glowing with health or dressed up for a nice night out.

We made a commitment to each other, and this cannot and will not be affected by looks or finances. That is what committed and loving relationships are about, not superficial or material things.

There are quite a few young ones around here, and if I must be one of the few wizened voices of hope and humanity, then so be it. 😛 I've never been materialistic myself though, and was raised by my parents to be self-sufficient and self-reliant, and to choose an equal in a partner who would treat me with respct and love.

The strongest and most fulfilling relationships I've seen have been between partners who are able to communicate their feelings and needs and to compromise, not between those whose sole determinants for dating another are looks or finanes. I'm not saying everyone needs to seach for their soulmate when they're 18 though, there's plenty of time to live and learn. :wine:
