He didn't need to invert a new one because he already mastered fighting. Lee wasn't a good enough student so he had to "invent" a new one so no one would make fun of him (which they did already)
Steven Seagal is an accomplished martial artist.
In a real fight, to the death, Lee would probably come out victorious based on speed alone.

you do realize that the marital arts Bruce Lee practiced was a from many different styles? Sorta of like the great grandpa for Mixed Martial Arts.
I think Seagal would win hands down. Seagal is more than twice Lee's weight and more than a foot taller. Seagal is undoubtedly stronger.

i cant think of a single human being that could beat bruce lee in his prime in hand-to-hand combat. maybe some ancient hero whose name we havnt even heard of, not anybody from this or past century at least...
by saying that i am not putting down segal either... heard he is real good with his akido. but did he ever write a book on fighting style?

If you have any doubts about Lee try to catch this next time it is on. Lee was skilled enough to fend off/trounce fighters who challenged him left and right. These were people who fought for the honor of the "old school" masters in China, not exactly amatures. Bruce basicly had a price on his head for teaching the techniques he had learned in China to the western world, the fact that he shared his kung fu was looked down upon by many in Hong Kong.
