Some of those lionesses were slacking, just there for the meal. Once he tells his mom what happened, I thinking it'll be an animal war.
 
I thought this might have been the night time attack where pride of lions attacked and killed a lone adult male elephant.

Glad to see a different ending this time.
 
I'd think the lions would wear the elephant down eventually, but hell if I know.

14 humans vs 1 elephant would be more interesting. Spears and simple knives only.

humans, easily, just due to having the intelligence to coordinate the attack... hell, the lions could have won if they had the intelligence to coordinate as well, instead of just all doing their own thing like most asshole cats.
 
Lions can and do kill Elephants. They do coordinate and in this way are far different than other cats that usually hunt solo - much more like pack of Wolves.

I do believe Lions are the only other animal to hunt Elephants. Only other than humans that is.

But yeah, Mayne has surpassed Silver prime for insanity.

Why is the prize 14 lions? We'd need to know more about the competition. If it is a log pulling contest vs an elephant, 99% of the time my money is on the elephant. But if it's a rumba competition, my money is on Carlton Banks.
 
If the elephant has goats around, it will win. If the elephant has no goats around, then it only takes 13 Lions to beat an elephant.

Goats are medics for elephants.
