Will this statement help Xionide:

"What kind of as*hole steals from a church!?!?!??!"

What kind of church can't rid themselves of child sex abuse?
Good to know that even you're susceptible to stereotyping, Zim.

Congrats on understanding my post Howard, you get a :cookie:

My question is why does a church need TV's?

Ok, ive answered this question 2x.

TV's- Younger kids for veggietales, prince of egypt; movie night for HS youth, as well as promotional videos, Bible Study, presentations.

As for computers, i happen to be one of the people that run our churches computer lab. We have a wide array of old PII's with Win98 (and one with 2000 and an extra 512mb of PC133 RAM thanks to me 😉). Also, i went out and found the full version of a game called "Exodus" with an emulator to run it. We also use it to play a game called Bible Baseball where we upload questions and they answer them based on toughness.

You would be suprised what we could do given the technology.

I thought TV was teh Evil ..... Thats what the Baptist preacher used to say at our church.
Apparently Lutherans are in league with ...... Satan. </church lady>

Well, this day was going [sarcasm]excellent[/sarcasm] when my pastors called and informed us that the church had a break in and our 2x 27" TV's were stolen.

Just out of pure curiosity:

"What kind of asshole steals from a church!?!?!??!"

That is just low 🙁 , really low.

I sent an E-Mail (probably will do nothing because of security reasons) to bestbuy asking if they can give a non-profit organization discount on a 20-27" TV.

If they dont i think, since i am behind on my pledged offerings 😱 im going to buy a TV and donate it to the church anyway.

$130... would it be *flush* or "(in a holy voice) AHHHHHH"

Would you feel the same way if it were food from the food bank?
This begs the question from another thread.

Well people generally dont steal food then sell it for drugs. Most of the time, they steal it because they need something to eat, right? I would still be mad, especially because if they asked we could probably help them out.

Now if someone went in an stole an enormous amount of food, or something to that effect, i would probably be a certain degree angrier.

The fact is that a TV is not only more expensive, but it doesn't noursih or benefit the persons health.

Well the assumption is that they were stealing to sell stuff for drugs. Now I'm not saying that ISN't happening, but we DO NOT KNOW FOR SURE that it IS , either. Given that people often sell their food stamps for drugs or alcohol or cigarettes, one cannot say that it isn't happening.
Either way, you should at last be thankful that they didn't hurt the guy who saw them. TV's can be replaced. people cannot.

The Lord is testing you. It's all part of his plan. You know what they say, "he work in mysterious ways." 🙂

Jesus didn't have any TVs, so your church doesn't need them either.
