Haybasusa, your main point keeps changing, but your main point now, revolves on the condition of " unless of course it turns out that Iran starts building weapons."
The point has been about Iran using proxies to attack Israel, which you keep ignoring. If Iran starts building nuclear weapons then Israel still isn't going to launch a ground war, but then neither is Iran. It will be from a distance.
Yeah, those f-14s are going to be a threat. You know those without spare parts. As Iran learned to depend on itself and has developed its own homegrown armament industry. And has also bought weapons on the international weapons markets.
Actually what Iran has is fairly well known. I'm curious to know when Iran took you into confidence as to when and who they'll give their weapons too. What Iran has in terms of advanced land to air missiles, or land to ship missiles may be largely unknown. But they are widely dispersed and there are in place Iranian plans to makes sure they fall into guerrilla army hands.
If Israel wanted to use nukes first then there effectively would be no Iran, but you know that. If Iran decides to use a ballistic missile, well the same result. After all, Iran would be fully justified in doing so if Israel attacks first. And if Israel uses nukes, Iran would be justified in using chemical, biological. radiological weapons against Israel.
That postage size country can effectively push Iran back into the stone age so you had better pray they aren't forced into believing that's their only effective option. As for Iran deciding to attack others in the gulf for whatever reason that's when the rest world eliminates the Iranian military forces. Of course with 150,000 missiles they could rule the world. Its the Israeli problem, its a postage stamp sized country, Iran is much much bigger and harder to kill. Meanwhile Iran would have plenty more effective weapons to make sure the Persian gulf stays shut down for mounts at a time. Maybe the straights could be protected
but oil tankers would face a 500 mile gauntlet if their docking facilities were not already wrecked.
If you want to continue the nonsense pissing match remember one thing. Iran can probably do a serious amount of damage to Israel under the right circumstances, but the big fearsome beast you like to make them out to be is something that can be put down in a few hours. For everyone's sake let's hope the leaders of Iran have more sense than you.
