Who would be the main culprit

Got a high pitched squeeling noise going on.. not a constant squeel, and I cant tie it to anything [It usually doesnt start till after windows is booted, so its hard to tell if its the HDD]

Im assuming that would be the main culprit though?

This mightnt be the best way to word it but stick your fingers in a random fan. If the sound continues, its not that fan.

Of course, I dont literally mean shoving your fingers in there. If you dont end up with a nice cut or 2, you could always damage the fan and cause a new problem. I put my finger on the hub of the fan gently to slow the fan down slowly.

Once fans have been ruled out, disconnect any culprits one by one to find it.

Got it. Had a silencer on the hard drive.. it must of been positioned funny or something so it was rubbing it... aahhh my ears are safe again 🙂

No worries with the fans.. I learned my lesson when I chopped my thumb up... :Laughs;
