Who will win the trade war? US or China?

I'm afraid US will lost this war. Because China's fightback is very accurate. They know where is the weakness of a politician. They aimed votes and money. They punish the farmers, workers, and finacial investors who have thrown big money into China's stock market. I guess they will give more pressure on Trump and Trump has to give up the war finally.Because for a politician you know, if they lost the votes and money, they will become nothing.

China pretended to be panda when they are weak. When they grown up, when they become stronger, they will give you a surprise. They will show their real face to you. It's not a panda, it's a dragon!

China will win. Because their moral bottom line is more lower than you. China never respect the rules or value that you treasured. In their eyes, all these are something that can be traded. For example, when US punish China's corporation ZTE because it sold its products to Iran, China's response is punishing Qualcomm. China blocked the deal that Qualcomm want to take over NXP.

Cool, straight up sinophobia.

If it comes to a trade war, the USA will be the loser, big time.

Nobody will win, we just will be a bigger loser. That's why this is so stupid.

It's like getting into a fistfight with your neighbor because he stepped on one of your cheap annuals you planted. You might win, but you end up with a busted lip, various bruises and a neighbor who hates you over a fucking cheap flower.

Not to say the trade relationship with China doesn't need attention, it does. Personally I believe they are not honest players (well, nobody is, but they are especially in the wrong in many ways)...but providing they are a problem, a trade war doesn't appear to be a solution.

It would be a fascinating trade war. On one side, a supplier of soybeans and IP and on the other side a supplier of damn near everything else. If China "wins" it sinks the dollar which makes China's dollar holdings worth less and lowers profits on goods sold to the US. If the US "wins" we get more expensive everything.

If you go forum diving, you'll find that I'm actually a fan of protectionism. I just think we need to be a bit strategic about it. Slap tariffs on high labor goods to drive jobs back here. Yes, stuff will cost more to the consumer but there will also be more money circulating locally.
