I think it depends on what happens in Iraq between now and then. If the militias keep disarming as promised in the last couple days, the major Kerry plank has been yanked out from under him, and Iraq is once again a civilized place. I don't think domestic issues will really matter much. Iraq will make or break it.

Another problem is that the US system concentrates too much power in the hands of one human individual, the Executive. Now Congress has given that individual carte blanche warpowers to boot.
