At least for analog applications a decent conductor with proper shielding will minimize noise and interference. Although you quickly get to diminishing returns on your money.He believes speaker wire makes a difference?

For digital cables if the signal gets there then it’s fine. You’d only need more expensive cables for excessively long runs.
