Whilst there is some contention in this thread on whether Biden should run again due to health issues, I'm surprised in such a pro-Democratic audience, no one is singing the praises of Kamala Harris?

Sure, why not? She's a smart, feisty lady that irritates traitors so my general impression of her is quite positive. She strikes me as possessing more testicular fortitude than most conservative rally attendants combined. I don't see supporters of her boss trying to kill her anytime soon, which is nice. I've actually been expecting her to extend an offer to Pete for the next primary. Dems believe in voting for things you know.

Personally, I'd prefer to see some GenX or Millenial leadership sooner as opposed to later, fwiw. I'm just happy enough with Joe's performance thus far to not begrudge the old guy a second chance to whoop a somehow not incarcerated Donnie Dipshit, the Twice Impeached Traitor. What the dems have accomplished in spite of GQP obstruction, sedition and treason is pretty amazing. Just imagine what they can get done with a real majority.

JOE MANCHIN, BABY! You think I joke, age hasn't affected Manchin like it has Biden yet (YET.) I don't mind Biden being the candidate if it weren't for all the senior moments, but here we are.

Still even then I just don't see him winning against the GOP's Kennedy in DeSantis (DeSantis would only be 3 years older than Kennedy when elected.)

It's vitally important Democrats field someone appealing on many fronts because it's not everyday the GOP can pull youth votes with someone that looks somewhat the same age they are. People like what they know and identify with.

Let's win the Midterms first and then the Dems can discuss.

I would prefer someone younger. Whomever it is had better have thoughts of a balanced ticket.

Not being real impressed thus far with Kamala Harris, I believe she needs more to do in public. I do not know if her widening profile is part of this or Biden's doctors and closest aides want to keep him from traveling so much.

But I am concerned with Biden's "the pandemic is over" statement. For a moment, I thought he was falling back into that bad habit of just running his mouth.

Dems always resort to infighting. Republicans have two goals: Make Lord Dampnut king again and let it be known we sure hate Blacks!

So you identify with an old guy who supports ruining the environment because that’s what you identify with?

Ok

You and Manchin should go out to dinner sometime and eat a bag of dicks.

I'm from WV, sooo ... I've voted for him time and again. You're welcome, BTW. =) Mostly I just like mentioning Manchin in P&N because it's fun!

So who would you like to see?

Certainly not Don Junior or Hunter Biden! 😂

I have no favorites to put forward. I will be hoping for candidates in their 40's or 50's that can rally the support of the younger generations in dealing with the long term challenges that we older fogies will be leaving behind for them.

With Biden already clearly suffering from dementia, it is obvious he won't be in any fit state to contest the next Presidential election, so that rules him out and normally the Vice President would be in the box seat to be the Presidential candidate, but Kamala Harris is astonishingly inept and about as popular as Monkey Pox, so we get the crazy situation where the party in power, is almost certainly going to have a full on Primary Contest to pick their candidate.

Who would you see as the leading candidate to emerge?

I suspect that California Governor Gavin Newsom would be a strong possibility.

Surely Hillary won't try again.

If Andrew Cuomo hadn't been exposed for being a sexual harassment champion, he likely would have been a strong contender too.

Who do you see as a strong prospect of leading the Democrats into the 2024 election?
Why do you compare Harris to MONKEYpox?

Well, it's obviously Donald Trump. Mitch doesn't like him anymore. He'll go back to being a Democrat. Problem solved.

People tend to equate linguistic facility with intelligence and general confidence, but I believe there is a huge range of intelligences people not particularly language gifted people can have.

Sure, but being President is ALL 100% linguistics.

I could not vote for Manchin.
Nobody likes Manchin at this point. He's managed to piss off 90% of Republicans, by being a Democrat and working with Democrats. He's managed to piss off 90% of Democrats, by obstructing many bills and throwing in so much fossil fuel pork that the IRA is nearly ruined as an environmental bill. And the rest probably think he's a flip-flopper because he blocked one version of the budget bill but passed another (even though his position has been pretty consistent the whole time.)

It is hard for powerful successful people to see they don’t matter because of so much contrary evidence, but if anybody can do it, I think Biden is a good candidate. He may choose not to run but will if it looks like only he among democrats will win. Sadly, I have never liked his VP choice. I also am not inspired by The governor of CA.

If not Biden, I’d prefer Katie Porter and Pete Buttigieg.

The Biden senile stuff is horse shit in my opinion.
Apparently this thread is making people crazy, because I agree with Moonbeam!

Chudbogus out of retirement. Desperate times calls for idiotic actions I guess.
