Who Will Be Clinton's VP?

That choice could be made today. The NY Times seems to believe Tim Kaine, Senator from Virginia has the inside track.

I thought that it would be Liz Warren, Senator from Mass. But now having The Bern's endorsement in hand, Clinton may not feel it is necessary to have a far left, progressive on the ticket. I think Warren has fallen off the short list.

Kaine is to the right of Warren, as he favors the existing and potentially future "free trade" agreements. As you recall, Clinton turned her back on the labor unions, having reversed her opposition of TPP.

Also according to the NY Times, Kaine has ties to Wall Street. Oh where, oh where will Occupy go?

I'm not making a predication, as I don't know most of these clowns who are in the running. Maybe you Democrat insiders can venture a guess as to who, and tell us why. Should not be very long before we find out.

Both Warren and Sanders serve progressives better in the Senate. Making either one VP would be stupid. Don't know much about this Kaine guy. Really don't care much about the VP pick at all TBH.

There's a bit of silliness in your post - "now, having The Bern's endorsement..." Only a fool would think that Bernie would not have endorsed Hillary if she won the nomination. That was a given - and if Bernie had won, Hillary would have endorsed Bernie. And both would respond to Trump saying, "all her/his voters are going to switch to me," by telling their voters not to. (edit: As Bernie just did.)

I think Bernie would be a great pick and he could head various special committees targeting wall street, college tuition, etc. I'm not so sure Bernie would want the spot though. If the could unite the two in a seamless way then they'd be unstoppable.

But my cool and creative pick would be Cory Booker

What's wrong with Biden? (Just to toss it out there.)

Or, how about attempting to steal Texas from the Republicans by nominating a liked Democrat from that state? E.g., Castro?

But, Hillary doesn't need to "win" the Hispanic vote by having a Hispanic VP, or worry about the black vote by having a black VP (that might cut into the few dozen (hyperbole alert for you right wing nut cases who take things too literally) black votes that Trump will get. Oddly, the demographic that Hillary needs to focus on are angry, bigoted white men.

Probably pick plain vanilla Kane. I guess to get Virginia. Will not make Berners happy.

The hardcore Berners seem to have moved on to Jill Stein, the pragmatic Berners to Hillary, and the sociopathic Berners to Trump. I don't think Warren would help much in any of those honestly.

Honestly VP is pretty unimportant in Hillary's case. She should pick a comedian like Dennis Leary or Collin Quinn just troll Trump 24/7

Or Jon Stewart! I don't think any man has spent more time over the past several years eviscerating Trump than Jon has.

I really doubt Texas will be flipped this election, but the day it's 'purple' is coming, and Trump is accelerating the process.

I think you are closest in mentioning Jon Stewart for a celeb choice. His many floggings of anything not Democrat are well documented. But Clinton would not want anyone to overshadow her which Stewart might do. Plus he has the propensity of being a loose cannon. So I don't think going Hollywood is realistic.

If Biden as VP has taught me anything its that the VP should be someone who knows how to get things done in Congress and who can bridge the two parties.

Who that is, I have no idea.

safe pick: Tim Kaine

gamble pick: Warren, Perez

dark horse: Stavridis, Michael Mullen, or some Congressmen no one has ever heard of before outside of their district

Are you aware that he has also called out Democrats on many, many occasions?

It looks like it will be Kaine, who is a fine pick and someone Clinton knows well.

I'd have been happy with Xavier Becerra or Tom Perez, who is really smart.

Someone like McMullen would have been an interesting pick.

Obama has said choosing Biden was one of the best decisions he ever made. The VP pick is for the president, not for everyone else.
