...How did YOU recognize him;)?

The ad yesterday said that it's a 7 episode event, so we're 2 down, 5 to go?

Wonder if they'll "cheat" and bring her to present day and just add her to Agents of Shield. Seriously, really good lead. Like her more than the entire Shield cast combined.

Because, I have lived with two different people that have watched every single episode. And, it's rough. =(

Its 8 eps, but the premiere was two eps in a row.

Also, Jarvis is not Jarvis... I guess I shouldn't expect big names in the show. =(

SHIELD at least got Mulan!

Watched the first two episodes. It was decent, not great. A better premiere than SHIELD, but that's not saying much. Considering where SHIELD has come I'll stick with it based on potential. I'm interested to see if they flesh out the SHIELD and MCU flashbacks...

I don't know why they didn't go with the series happening shortly after the end of captain america and she was out hunting for the rest of the hydra bases instead of years after the war was done.

My understanding based on seeing the various movies and whatnot is that this is, for all intents and purposes, right after the war is done. In fact, I think there was even an allusion in the first episode that the war is still going on but it's in drawdown mode (that's why Carter's flatmate lost her job or something).

The interesting thing they get to explore is that during The First Avenger you get the feeling that Tommy Lee runs the SSR and Carter is 2nd or 3rd in command. Now, with the success of the super soldier program, the Stark inventions, etc. the SSR has been overrun by beaurocrats and newcomers and Carter, one of the real pieces that made it work, is being marginalized. Considering SHIELD characters still view her as the "mother" of SHIELD, it could be an interesting journey to see Carter re-take the helm of the SSR.

Plus, you could be seeing the difference between "field agents" of the SSR and "desk agents", kind of like how Coulson is a field agent in SHIELD and someone like Hand isn't. Carter could be back from the field now, but redeployed later.

Wonder if they'll "cheat" and bring her to present day and just add her to Agents of Shield. Seriously, really good lead. Like her more than the entire Shield cast combined.

She made an appearance in TWS: she's like 90 years old and dying in hospice care. Considering Season 2 of SHIELD takes place after TWS I don't think it's even possible.

Super Soldier serum. Dr Strange. Inhuman awakening. If they want to they can find a way, although I don't think they should.

I tried this and had to kill it 10 minutes in. It's horrible in the same way that mad men is, demoralizing women. That may be history, but that doesn't make it tolerable.

Looks like lots of people agree...

Agent Carter ratings started reasonably well, but by episode three its ratings had dropped into the range that indicates that it's likely to be canceled.

Who would even think that? I seriously don't get it. If anything it shows her kicking everyone's ass and outsmarting everyone.

Last nights episode with her and the Howling Commandos back together was fantastic. Pretty messed up what the Russians were doing with those kids.

Really like how they're filling out everyone's characters.

IIRC, it's only supposed to be about 8 episodes...just filler till AoS starts again.

They explain it clearly enough...

For those who are still confused, a limited series is one that has a limited number of episodes per season (fewer than the "full" 22 episode season), NOT a limited number of seasons. If a limited series does well, it will be renewed, as happened with Under The Dome, The Following and Sleepy Hollow, etc. If it does badly, it will be canceled and not return, like what happened with Gracepoint, The Assets, Killer Women, certainly Galavant, etc

And...this just in:
Agent Carter’s mission will continue next season. Marvel’s most at-risk TV series has managed to score a renewal.

The Captain America spin-off starring Hayley Atwell averaged a relatively modest 7.6 million viewers and a 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 this season when including seven days of DVR playback. The period action-drama, which took over ABC’s Tuesday night from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. during midseason, was considered very much on the bubble for a pickup. Though ABC did not give an episode count, we’re hearing they’re ordering another 8 hours, same as the first season.

But the Marvel-ABC corporate relationship is strong, and ultimately a season 2 deal was struck. The question remains what this means for the Adrianne Palicki and Nick Blood-fronted S.H.I.E.L.D. spin off, which is still awaiting news of its fate. If it’s also picked up and used as filler in the same way that Agent Carter was in its first season, ABC could be looking at near-year round Marvel programming.

And next season Agent Carter won’t be the only comic-book property with a female lead—CBS greenlit DC Comics’ Supergirl earlier this week, while Marvel also has AKA Jessica Jones over at Netflix.
