THey mentioned buckethead.

Buckethead is one of the most bizarre and enigmatic figures in American underground and experimental music since Parliament-Funkadelic birthed their bevy of cosmic characters in the mid-'70s. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist best known for his virtuosic command of the electric guitar, Buckethead is one of the instrument's most recognizable contemporary innovators, his rapid-fire riffing, near-robotic fretwork, and idiosyncratic lead lines combining elements of Yngwie Malmsteen, Adrian Belew, Slayer's Kerry King, P-Funk's Eddie Hazel, and avant-improv artist John Zorn's Scud-attack sax abuse. His first group, the San Francisco-based metal-funk combine the Deli Creeps, was a regional success, but disbanded before they could release anything. Buckethead's solo career has been more productive, thanks mostly to the motivation of Zorn and Bill Laswell, the latter of whom Buckethead has also recorded and toured with in Praxis. Laswell has also produced a number of Buckethead's solo albums (including Dreamatorium and Day of the Robot) and included him on more than a dozen one-off recordings with the likes of Hakim Bey, Bootsy Collins, Anton Fier, Jonas Hellborg, and Bernie Worrell. In addition to releases including 1998's Colma, Buckethead has also contributed soundtrack material to such films as Last Action Hero and Street Fighter. Buckethead returned in 1999 with Monsters and Robots, after which he joined Guns n' Roses. ~ Sean Cooper, All Music Guide

They also mentioned Dizzy Reed who was a member in the GnR Ver 2.0

The group ? which included longtime GN'R keyboardist Dizzy Reed and a batch of new faces like ex-Replacements bassist Tommy Stinson, ex-Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Finck and guitarist Buckethead

Right now?? He's been on the scene since the early 90's from what I recall. I had no idea he was playing with G 'n R (which is bizzare in itself)until a couple of months ago.

Uhhh yeah. Right now. Which doesn't speak much of the quality of today's guitarists. As for starting in the early 90s, that's not a very long career, but I hadn't heard of him until a year ago...if he was one of the best guitarists around 10 years ago, I think I would have heard about him sooner than last year.

He's definitely worked up the ladder and gained a lot of respect from a lot of people.

Am I the only one who noticed that Axl seemed to be running out of gas towards the end of the song?

Good to see them back, but methinks Axl needs to get in better shape.

Yeah, when I got my hands on a recording of it, I noticed that, too. I didn't get a chance to see it live, but I definitely noticed that Axl was running out of gas when he was running all over the stage. On a side note, I liked the new song "Madagascar" and can't wait to hear a recording studio version of it, not to mention the rest of the new material.

i worshipped guns and roses when i first heard appetite for destruction in the 5th grade to about the use your illusion tour...it was axl rose who taught me the word fvck from the song 'mr. brownstone'...it was sad when they broke up and i was actually really excited when i heard they were performing on the vma's...then when i saw it i got sad again cos axl was fat, couldn't sing, could even barely do his little dance, and appeared to have hair extensions or some kind of fake hair.....but still it's nice to see him perform and maybe he'll get back into shape...and maybe in another 10 years he'll finally release 'chinese democracy '

apparently axl has left "the jungle" cuz he didn't look to lean or hungry to me.

i use to love guns n roses - alas axl has porked out (hiding under all the baggy black clothes) - he's a tubby middle age man just like me (except i have all my own hair!)

heck, the ex-wifey stefanie seymour has had a kid (or two) and she still looks hot - axl has let past success get to his waistline.

and no slash!

ah well, there's going home is there....
