remember the psn outage for over 2 weeks? like in late 2010 or something remember?

my question is does the current psn users that at the time of psn outage hack...... all user's password is no longer usable? due to the hack so sony wants user to change our password while making our current password unusable? all passwords at the time of psn hack is no longer workable? sony wants us to change password?

im trying to pin point of why i cant login to my old psn account. my ps3 was broken before the psn hack. now recently got a new ps3 and cant login to old psn account.

It's been a while, but IIRC I did have to change my password when PSN came back up.

what does it say? what the message say?

say something like "your password is no longer avalible, please change your password" ?

i tried many time and many day to login to my old psn account but i cant. now finally a message pop up saying the above. it makes me a bit happy cause i finally get something instead of nothing thinking i forgot my password but it cant be. but glad it says something so i know i know my password is correct. so after the message pop up and i press X for ok...... then it idle for 20sec then finally says service is under maintenace.

now my question is:
if change password via ps3 hardware....... do it require to activate the new password via our email that we registered our psn id with? or it activates right away after we change new password via ps3 hardware?

Late 2010? It was just this past summer.

You log in with old password, then it says you must change your password, then makes you agree to new terms.

yeah not sure when was it.

so once it ask you to change password and agree to new terms..... do you still have to go to your email for activation? or after you change password and it affects right away and no need to go to email to confirm?

why i ask is cause i cant access my email.

Pretty sure they have sent you an email telling you to change passwords, I couldn't log in without changing it.

If you can't access your email account you might have bigger problems than not being able to play ps3...

If you can play to the Ps3 you email and check to see the result for reset the system, not XbOx 360 likely. finding password is needed for play!

When trying to log into an account with a hacked password, the playstation will explicitly tell you that they are going to email you information on how to reset your password. I think the only way for Sony to know that you aren't a hacker trying to access someone else's account is by verifying your identity through your email. I'd recommend trying to gain access to your email.

If your email is not an option, you might try to contact SOE and get your password reset that way, but if you tell them your email address is invalid they might not like that. Maybe they can change your email address too, but these are things that will need to be done through their customer service.
