I guess. I saw somebody have I think 8 (yes) organs on tv replaced at once, they emptied out basically her entire chest cavity, it was awful.

I would imagine unless the liver has the person's SS# on it, there wouldn't be any problems.

Sorry guys, the recipient patient was deemed "medically too unstable" to receive the liver, so it's going somewhere else. Maybe next time.

No identifying information would be used or seen. Plus its at a teaching hospital where almost everything is getting photographed or videotaped.

My guess is it means the patient wasn't stable enough to undergo the surgery.

You must have done other procedures in the pass so I would assume you have pics somewhere that you could show us, or were you just trying your new camera?

What does "medically too unstable" mean?

Meaning that the person that needed the liver was in such a fragile and weak condition that the risk they would die on the operating table is too high to risk the procedure.

Most transplant patients have to be in a state of urgency (life or death) yet at the same time be strong enough to withstand the transplant surgery. Talk about irony.

My father passed away after receiving a liver transplant. He tried to hold on for 2 months for the liver to take but it never did. RIP Dad.

I've always found it amazing that transplanting ever works.
