Who Wants to Install Some Ceiling Fans?

i will
send em here, i already have rough-ins in my bedroom and dining room

Sure, I will. I've installed about 2 dozen. I'll do it for 2/3 what a local electrician would charge you 😛
Plus, you'll have to pay travelling expenses. (I'm hoping you live in Hawaii!)

Get a how to manual, or look at how-to's on the internet... the first one will take you an hour or two, the second one 20 minutes, the 3rd one 15 minutes, if that.

All expenses paid?

If possible wait until fall. south Fla makes it hot as hades in the crawl space. I made that mistake on the first unit that I replaced in in a bedroom. Could not last more than a half hour before becoming affected by the heat/humidity build up.

In December, it was a breeze (pun intended) to put two in the living room

Depends. Is there already a light there you want to replace with a fan? (If so, that's really easy). Or is ther enothing so it involves running cable, cutting holes in the ceiling, and other fun things.

I've done 2 of the latter in my house and it sucks. heh.

Unfortunately, it's the latter, requiring a hole in the ceiling, wiring in the attic, etc. I've done a few with an exisiting fixture in place already. Nothing to it. But, this is a bit more than I can handle. Rather than fry myself, I guess I'll scout out an electrician.

no thanks. i did 4-5 in my mother in laws house about 7-8 years ago, it was a royal pain. i had to put cross supports into all the ceilings , georgia attics in summer are freaking hot

I'd highly recommend the Hampton Bay (Home Depot) fans with the "quick connect" style blades. (I'm not sure exactly what it is called, but it is specifically mentioned on the box as being easy to assemble)

Anyway, they weren't lying. I've put up probably 10-12 fans in my life and this last set that I got for my house were by FAR the easiest. Everything on the fan basically snapped into place (blades, light fixtures, trim pieces, etc) and it was just a matter of hanging the mount and hooking up the wires. Took like 10-15 mins per fan after I did the first one.

Compare this to some of my previous fan adventures, which involved screwing everything together (3 screws per blade), balancing the blades, running wires through the fan for the light kit, hooking up the light kit, securing the light trim etc, which took about 45-60 mins per fan.

I was surprised. I bought them because they were relatively cheap ($60? $80?) and didn't think I'd be too impressed, but overall I have been very happy with them. They won't save you any time in actually putting the fan box into the ceiling, but at least you can reduce the hassle of "fan assembly."

I've got to install one in my daughter's bedroom and I'm not looking forward to getting in the attic.

<----Lives in GA and it's already hotter than hades here.
