Does anyone have any experience with WindowBlinds (specifically version 4)?
Looks interesting, but I don't really want to plunk down $19.95 if it makes the OS too unresponsive.
If you use it, what skins do you like?

I used to use it - but then disscovered StyleXP. It is much more stable and reliable. Lots of skins and combos. WindowBlinds definitely interfered with the operation of some software - specifically Family Tree Maker 10.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
I really don't care for the default XP theme, and Windows Classic is getting a bit old & tired.

I agree WB did affect other apps, StyleXP is the best choice if you are tired of same ol' - same ol' XP

I don't use any programs for Windows themes. I downloaded the hacked UXTheme.dll and installed it. Linky

XP already has a built in theme/skinning support. No need to buy a program to use what is already there.

All you need to do is follow the directions on the page that igowerf linked. It will walk you through patching the uxtheme.dll file which prevents Un-signed themes from being installed. Once that file is patched all you need to do is make a trip to www.themexp.org, download some themes and unzip them to c:\windows\resources\themes\. And most of the time the themes you download come with a self-extracting installer that automatically places them in the right location.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Still can't find a theme that's subtle, unobtrusive, and pleasant. I'm looking for something similar to Classic Windows, perhaps, but with rounded buttons & a neutral color pallete.
Most seem to be either more Fisher-Price than the standard XP is or they have horrible color schemes, awkward title bars/buttons, or are simply over-the-top.

What themes do you guys like?
