Who uses Virgin Mobile?

SAWYER

Lifer
I am about to cancel my Sprint and I stumbled up VM and see it uses Sprint's coverage so I am good to go. How do you like it? I am going to do the 35/month plan

Do you travel much? Apparently the biggest negative is that there is no roaming ability.

That's the only thing that really kills it for me.

70 miles away from home weekly, but I dont talk anyway. If the area I go to on their coverage map is in green am I good to go?

Yep, good to go, biggest downside is the Triumph has a crappy radio, and slow internet speeds. You're looking @ VM's coverage right?

Sprint roams on Verizon, so you get pretty good coverage, VM is Sprint only, no roaming.

I am confused about roaming, if my phone enters a roaming mode, does it mean I will have to pay a lot more per minute/text/internet?

I use a bb curve so internet speed isn't an issue. I don't know if I roam on my phone now with Sprint. I live in Jonesboro, AR

I've been on it for a week now. I have the Motorola Triumph.

It's been good so far, except for the battery life on the Triumph is terrible. Worse than my Evo.

my daughter has the optimus V on virgin mobile. not too bad, but sprint isnt the best here in the phx area so i get frustrated sometimes when i cant get ahold of her. when we travel she usually has signal, but not everywhere.

Can I buy a used Android VM and put it on the 25/month plan or do i have to use the phone that are offered for that plan?

I mean a used vm android phone. ON their website that only list certain phones for the pay lo, my wife prefers the more minutes that it offers

I like it, great value for voice + data (I still pay $25) in urban/highly traveled areas, but if you want more reliable voice with no data, get Page Plus, which is on Verizon network.

I would but no Blackberry on it that I see. If I could get my Sprint Curve to work on it I would

the reason it's so cheap and unlimited data is they know how much data each phone uses and plan around that. their phones aren't exactly speed demons

my ex and my daughter are on it. Coverage in NE Ohio isn't nearly as good with Sprint as it is with Verizon or AT&T, but when they are in areas where the coverage is good, it works fine.
