Who uses OCXX connections and who uses TX connections?

Nocturnal

Lifer
Optical Cable? What does OC stand for? Who uses it? What's the diff between that an a T line? I take it OC lines are ten times higher than a regular T line, right?

T1 = ~1.5mbit/second
T3 = ~45mbit/sec
OC3 - 155mbit/second
OC12 - ~655mbit/second

as to what OC and T stands for, i couldnt tell ya.

I believe OC stands for Optical Carrier... The T stands for a certain standard... or it could mean twisted pairs.

I'm disappointed. For that kind of speed there aren't nearly enough blinking lights or spinning dials.

Look into the fiber to see the light 😉 I had no tripod with me so forgive the blur:

A cookie to whoever can identify the remote access servers with the huge clusters of green leds

While I'm spamming with my pics and we're talking about connections, here's an incredibly messy array of smartjacks. Each piece of cat5 going into the beige cabinets is a T1:

That's more like it. Everyone knows the speed and quality of electronic equipment is directly related to how many cool flashing lights there are. 😛

Some night I'll put a plexiglass window on one of the routers and change all the leds to blue ones. Its bound to offer a 25% throughput increase 😉

Only if you put TypeR stickers on the cases/racks/enclosures. Each sticker gives a 5% boost.

And dont forget the cold cathodes that give 15% speed boost per light 😉

Pics of my network...

I did the wiring myself... Redid some of up because I wasn't happy with it. It's a lot cleaner now, and there
are less desktop servers and more rack mount servers.

yikes how many computers on your network?

edit: nice cable job by the way

Thats a little excessive for a home network, wouldnt you say?

Anyone have that one picture that was posted like a month ago with like 10,000 cables..

lol, that's not my home network 🙂, that's the work network. I wish I had an OC-3 coming to my house 🙂
