Who uses Google Adsense or Amazon Associates?

I have a couple of web-based ventures in mind and I'm thinking about using Google Adsense and Amazon's Affiliates program to help generate revenue.

Has anyone used one or the other? What's your experience been like? Do they seem to generate revenue for you? Any annecdotes you can offer would be helpful. 🙂

I use AdSense. Yes, it generates revenue, but I don't cover my costs.

Are you getting a lot of traffic? I would imagine that's the biggest issue with Adsense and other programs like it.

What do you mean by a lot of traffic? A high CTR, or number of visitors to my site, or what?
