Lots of people claim to be geeks now that it's fashionable, but we all know that most of them aren't. One way to tell is to what extent you customize your rig.

For example, my primary cursor is this

What do you use?

Default. I used to have one on this machine, but lost it when I upgraded last night. I didn't like it that much anyway, so I'm not worrying about it.

Changed my mind maybe. You got me to look, so I'll try this for awhile, and see how it goes. It better matches my buuf icon theme

um, i find people with custom cursors are less likely to be geeks and more likely to be hapless noobs who got tricked into downloading comet cursor

. . . at least that's how it was 15 years ago

Nice. You can size your cursors. All of the sites I looked at only gave you one size.

Ehh, not really :^D That setting doesn't appear to work. It does for the default cursors, but not the custom. I'm sure I could make it work, but it isn't important enough to try figuring it out. Maybe some time if it bothers me enough, and I'm bored.

Fairly certain I haven't had a custom cursor since I tried the C&C theme in Windows 95.... Both the Nod and GDI themes were pretty badass.

I used to have a fancy custom cursor back in Windows 95. I even hex-edited the Windows icon that appeared on the Start Button. I made it gray-scale.

No mods on Windows 7 these days though.

I remember how cool that was with Windows 95. Then it stopped being cool, even for nerds...I would think.

I like the windows inverted so you can clearly see a dark cursor against a light background or light when it's over a dark background. It defaults to dark so when I use teamviewer against this PC I can hardly see the cursor so I had to change it back. I think that's all I wanted out of a cursor - clarity for a quick find.

I customize each cursor option. And I never heard of comet cursor. I got all mine for free and they are dope.

It's been over 15 years ago. Used it for a week or so. Then uninstalled the crap and went to Windows default.

Though I noticed Imgur converted the format and messed up the background a bit...looks like you'll have to go in and manually fix it so it appears correctly. Depending on how you convert it, all that lime green should go away and leave just zen Gumby. Actually works pretty well on the TV here, nice and big (click with his head) though it's hard to tell what it is exactly from 10ft away.

I might pick out of whatever comes preinstalled in the OS but that's about it. At work I have mine set to "Windows Black - Large". With 5 monitors full of tabular data it's easy to lose it, that makes it easier to find it. :p

Anyone remember comet cursor? Is that still around? Pretty sure it was spyware, but it seemed to be installed on every computer I ran across. I remember people at school changing cursor to silly stuff like a penis. Of course, that is totally the high school thing to do.
