Whoa it seems to have a GFCI on it. Or is that just a fuse protector?

EDIT: That thing is going to be a frigging pain to plug in on the power strip in back of my TV!

It looks like one of those power cords on the end of my hair dryer... I guess I need to go ahead and fill out my form and order mine.

Curious why they would put a GFCI on there? Were they having problems with people using their Xbox's near water or something? Spilled coke?

I'm too lazy to flip my xbox over and look up the serial # or date

I figure if my house burns down I can still sue Microsoft claiming I never heard about such a problem???!!! :Q

Only certain xbox consoles will get the cord with the circuit interuptor, it depends on the production date.

The other new version cord looks very much like the one that came with the xbox originally.

Yeah, I got one of the big ones for a launch xbox, but my brother owns one from 2002 and got the regular one.

The book says the cord is to prevent a potential issue of the components on fire.

i was so excited about this, b/c when i travel w/ my xbox, it's a pain in the ass to unhook the power cord from behind my heavy ass TV stand (with 30" widescreen CRT on top)

I got mine yesterday - it's the exact same cord I got with my new XBox from one month ago. (Same small form factor)

i don't care if my house burns down, i like not having that stupid transformer on the end of the cord. my xbox has been on for about 1 year and 3 months, not including power outages.

Mine came and has no GFCI... It looks very simular to the original cord, just with a new little tag and the end is maybe 3cm larger....
