it's as if America - unable to "deal" with the fact that it is quagmired in Iraq or face the fact it is NOT a good idea to elect a rather stupid person to the highest political office - is retreating to a world of complete fantasy where "heroes" will save the day.

On a positive note, the multicultural aspect of the show is an interesting change. I've never seen so many non-Caucasian people in a mainstream US program. Altho the producers completely lack balls when it comes to Zac's homosexuality. It's all so hush hush.

IMHO, the reaaallllyyy long break didn't help in any way. I was REALLY in to it what, 8 weeks ago? I haven't seen it since it came back on.

That would be the screwed up nature of television programming. You get 3 months of tv, a six week break, then another month or two. After that you have a six month break before it (maybe) starts again.

I think you're silly. The show kicks some major butt. The characters are all interesting (with the exception of Nikki) and there's plenty of character development and action.

That's American programming. I like Japanese and Korean schedules. They planned out the whole series and air it continuously until the show is finished.

You're probably reading a bit too much into it. Forget politics for a moment and enjoy.

the show does seem to include many parallels with the current or recent political landscape. For example the whole plot line of New York being under threat of being blown up has an obvious parallel with 9/11. It's a bit hard to ignore that kind of subtext.

Heroes is Great.

The show I think is a bit Numbnut is Two and a half Men.
The title of this show should be one of these instead....

1--- Three wussies
2--- Two Men and a Campbell's kid! (you know, the fat cheek soup kids)

It's pretty good but it wasn't what I thought it would be. I thought they were gonna have more reasonable explainations and abilities. Some of them are really outrageous but stuff like the regeneration and two personality abilities are believable. The rest is just out there. At any rate I still think it's a great show. Pretty entertaining.

I don't quite get why they did that. Someone calls him gay in one episode and she defends but doesn't contradict it.

I'm still hoping that he comes around and decides to tap that ass (yeah, I guess I'm living vicariously through him :p :Q

the writers created him as a gay character, but network executives are worried about anything that might offend the religious right, so his sexuality is only hinted at

Is it silly? On paper it might be. You might read the description on IMDB or NBC and go "Hey, this is like X-Men" or something. You might think the idea is old and has been all over the place like books, etc, but oh well...

It's pretty amazing when you watch it. Yes, when you take a step back, it's a silly notion because it's fantasy, but is the story well written? Yes. Are there unique elements to it? Yes.

But Heroes IMO is going down a path Lost is going down. There's still so much mystery and so much we don't know yet. There are millions of questions to be answered. Lost kept many of us tuned in because we wanted to find out more. However, after 2 seasons we realized it opened too many doors, and there are even more being opened in Season 3. Will Heroes do the same? We're only in the first season, and remember when Lost first came out, we were like OMG I want to watch more. So hopefully things get resolved, but it's always the first season of the show that makes it the greatest.
