This ought to be an accurate polling, asking 100,000 people, 99.9% of which hate her music and thus will vote no regardless.

I don't know what you're out to prove, this poll means no more than me pointing out her record sales. Give it up youngin.

Christina Aguilera has a waaay better voice more range and power.
I agree, of new female pop artists in the past 5 years or so I'd definitely put Christina on top of the heap when it comes to vocal skill. She has also become the #1 slut too.
Record sales mean NOTHING. Youngin :D
That's my point.

Her voice is squeeky and annoying, but her singing skill (ability to hit notes, carry into new octaves, etc.) is good.

Ah, mis-read. Believe what you want, but if you want a good voice, listen to Mariah or Whitney.

Oh I'm not saying they don't have good, if not better voices, I think mariah has one of the best singing voices I've ever heard, her vocal range is unbelievable. But that doesn't mean that people not AS good can't be good.

Mariah does a bad job of trying to sound like Whitney. Whitney is good though. She should be something of a gold standard when it comes to female pop vocalists, although there are others that deserve credit like TLC comes to mind.

Hitting notes doesn't make a good voice. A good voice makes volume, warmth in the voice, etc.

Well I guess the thing is that you can objectively rate somebody's singing skill (technical), but voice is purely subjective based on your own opinion.

A computer voice can hit tones.

As near as I can tell, she can't sing at all, and her entire success (which I do not begrudge her in the least) is based on her undeniable babealiciousness. Christina A, on the other hand, seems much more talented as a vocalist. though I can't say I am fond of her choice of material.

Thinly veiled reference to Britney's frequent use of a digitizer? hehe

I don't get the relevance...A computer can also play the violin. Does that mean that a good violinist should not be respected?

If she had a good voice then she wouldn't use DAT tapes to sing for her on all her live performances.
