Any idea? I don't see what kind of people they want to attract - it's a bar with food and videogames? Huh? Basically buffalo wild wings w/o the sports?

Don't have TV, and have never seen the commercials, but it sounds like a good place for people who like to drink beer and play games.

Check it out one time and see what kind of people are there.

At least there are video games.

The games are all like >$0.75 and up per play. But they are the fairly recent with all the new guns/visors/controls.

I have never even seen or heard of one until the commercials started coming out. East coast thing?

Went once about 5 years ago. The vid games are all of the quarter-sucker variety, the kind where you can't get too far on a single play because they're timed. So you get so far and have to put in more coins to continue. Nothing like the old days when if you were good at a game you could play for hours for a buck. They had a deal where you paid $10 and got unlimited play for an hour. You can get your moneys worth, but you sure can't kill an evening there at that price. I think ideally it's a good place to take a date for some drinks, bar food and some billiards because it's cleaner and safer than a typical pool hall.

Go and try it out before you knock it. It's really fun to go with buddies or a date. Yea sure it's not cheap but none of those places are but you can have a hell of a good time. They have deals that you buy food and they give you a certain amount of credit to play the games.

There's been 2 here in Los Angeles/Orange County area for as long as I've been able to drink.

http://www.daveandbusters.com/locations/default.aspx Oh... It is not a Northwest thing at all.

Fuck those commercials, seriously. I never even watch TV and when I am in the kitchen and people are watching TV it's all I fucking hear. "LET THE FUN BLAHBLAHBLAH, FUCK YOURSELF, FUCK YOURSELF."

WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT IF I DON'T EVEN HAVE ONE IN ANY FUCKING STATE NEAR ME?! FUCK 'EM! GOD DAMN.

I take clients there all the time. It's fun for all. It's a lot of fun. Why do you hate fun?

beedubs doesn't have nice pool tables, they don't have nice food, and they don't have tons of video games. Not knocking BW3s wings, they're pretty damn good. But for adults that want to go out and have a decent meal and be served and have some fun afterwards with decent 9 foot tables you can't beat D&B.

It's like the perfect place for a fun night out. Sorry OP can't see that.

The kind of people they are trying to attract are people that like good booze, good food and good fun. Basically the folks that want a fun night out and not be around obnoxious/rude 20 somethings (who are busy hanging out at BW3s and being obnoxious).

Don't go for the video games. All they have are 10 versions of house of the dead, 10 versions of time crisis, 10 version of redneck hunter, and 10 boring driving games.

Agreed, at least the one in Philadelphia was like that. I also went to one in Maryland that wasn't any different.

I go there every once in a while with friends. It's alright, food's decent, and fairly cheap for the meal + game card deals on weekdays. Lots of pool tables too.
Same booze as any bar, but no specials and I've never seen a large crowd there. It basically seems like a bar where parents go and take their kids too.

Of course, most of my friends are the variety that I'm lucky if they want to go out at all, so D&B is the best bar I get to go too many times.

Here in the Bay Area, we have one at the Great Mall in Milpitas. On the weekends it seems to be hangout central for the young spikey-haired Asian types...

Maybe go check it out before knocking it? But that means leaving the house......and you might not be big on doing that.

I've been once with some buddies and a few girls. It was fun as hell, but that may have been because we smoked a fatty first.

We take our kids there occasionally. Especially for the deal where you get X amount of dollars on a card for ordering one of their meals. Good and the kids enjoy it.

My 3-year old daughter cracked me up one time when we were there because she wanted to play the big lighted wheel where you pull the handle, a light spins around a bunch of numbers, and then you slap a big button to win tickets. She wasn't even looking the first time she played and hit it at the right to win 1000 tickets. Two plays later, she did it again. She got a pretty nice toy for that trip.

I like the food, and the ones out here have a great selection of video games. They have Virtua Cop III on a HUGE screen, fucking a blast to play after you've had some drinks. Games are very pricey and they use some stupid credit system to throw you off how much you're actually paying. Err, it throws me off any ways lol. I like playing Shuffle Board there, I don't see that many places at all. GF is addicted to the big ass Sega Horse Racing game they have, she plays it about 10 times in a row every time we go.
