I’m genuinely unsure as to why people take things Trump says as being at all indicative of what he is planning on doing or even what he is considering doing.

In this case it is a standard Republican policy. To attack our people. So I fully expect to see cuts to services.

Also, most Democrats when a Republican is in office. Its called politics.

Not really. You will sometimes hear Democrats calling to reduce spending on a specific thing, like the Military, but it is never to reduce spending overall, it is always to move those funds somewhere else, like education. Democrats rarely ever call for austerity like measures like you hear Republicans advocating (right up until they are the ones in charge!)

Fact is, neither party has either reduced net federal spending or even wanted to.

As they shouldn't, since reducing government spending is a recipe for disaster. Chasing efficiency is good, but people like you who think cutting real spending while GDP increases and population increases are wildly misguided.

Right wing GOP billionaires don't care if it's a disaster for ordinary Americans so long as they receive greater power & profit. In Libertopia, the Rich end up owning everything, including the govt.

In Libertopia, if you go down, you stay down. May God have mercy on your soul, because you won't get any from Republicans.
God has no mercy for you. If he did you would already be rich. Anyone who isn’t rich is that way because they have a moral issue holding them back. Give to the prosperity gospel preacher to get right with the lord!

So wanting reduced government spending, including military, is a recipe for disaster?

Overall spending. I'm pretty much tired of supporting a massive program to give free shit to foreigners. It's a very expensive delivery system for shit they don't even want, like bombs, bullets & rockets. Maybe we should make different kinds of free shit for people in this country, stuff that benefits us all. But that would be evil soshulism & we can't have that.
