Yes but much of the magazine's sucess is due to the image it projects, or specifically the Playboy lifestyle that Hugh Hefner leads, and which his readers aspire to.

When Hugh Hefner dies, Playboy will be just another porno outlet in a world filled with porno outlets. Like Cuba and Castro, I'm not sure Playboy will survive much longer after Hugh Hefner dies.
