Who still plays a really old PC game? (at least semi-regularly)

I never really stopped playing Duke Nukem 3D...even have a few maps I made :)

Recently started playing Unreal Gold again, working on Return to Na Pali. What a great game, still a lot of fun to play!

I play Ultima Online every now and then, well, I run a server, so I am 99% on my admin char and not actually playing. Working on Christmas event right now.

I also play on the official servers. I've always played free servers and decided to check out the real thing. Been playing this game for about 10 years now.

I still play UT3 every now and then, if that counts as an old game.

Occasionally i have the urge to load up diablo 2 and make a character.

it quickly passes.

however, the urge to load up baldur's gate series doesn't pass so easily.

One of these days I'm going to dust off my Apple II+ and play Loderunner again. That's something like 30 years old.

I still find the original Company of Heroes to be the most challenging RTS I've ever played. And I've won playing 1 vs. 11 insane computer opponents in Warcraft III.

I mostly just play 90s games these days. Did another full playthrough of Blood just a few weeks ago.

I still like to play mechwarrior 2 about once a year, and Descent 2 is the only reason I still have a joystick

Not PC games, but I've been going through the 16 bit era Castlevania titles for the first time, as it wasn't a series I played growing up. Rondo of Blood and Bloodlines were great, but IV was disappointing.

Still fire up the original Rollercoaster Tycoon once in awhile.

Simcity 4, Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour, BF2 (I mod the maps), Mupen N64 emulator and play Goldeneye and Perfect Dark, and a Mario All Stars emulator. I have yet to pass Mario 3 without cheating. LOL

And I can play all this on a Dell Precision M6300!

Da fuq? No way, IV is the best Castlevania if not one of the best. Awesome controls, music, and ambiance.

So I've heard, I just don't see it. Seems like every death during the levels was from some cheap enemy placement designed to knock you into a pit. Then when you reach the boss, it's mostly a single pattern that requires little more than constant whip attacks and a few jumps. The other two games didn't have the constant cheap deaths, the enemies themselves posed the challenge during the levels, and the bosses had interesting and varied patterns. I could go on, but it just didn't work for me.

Not really old but I keep playing Battlefield 2 and the original Star Wars Battlefront. I really need to find a modern single player replacement.

How old is "old?"

I still play Half-Life 2 and COD2...and occasionally BF2.

Haven't played anything much older than those since I upgraded my PC to Windows 7 a few years ago. MOST of my older games were fine with Vista and my CRT monitor...but they just don't look quite right on 1920 x 1080...and the OS doesn't like them...

Gorillas.BAS cant be beat.

:)

The oldest game I've played in the last few years was Monkey Island 2. Unfortunately I could still remember the solutions to a lot of the puzzles. The same goes for the old Tomb Raider games.

Sherlock Holmes used an analogy about a person's mind getting filled up with random junk like the average person's loft, logically impeding their ability to retrieve important information from memory. I wonder how much of my memory is filled with film quotes, song lyrics and game puzzle solutions.

Warcraft 2, Starcraft, Settlers 3, War Inc.

I've been thinking about tracking down Syndicate Wars, I remember having lots of fun with that one back in the day. I used to love the old Mech Warrior stuff and Wing Commander but haven't had the motivation to get them going again.

Half Life 1, Morrowind, UT2004, does CS:S count?

If were talking non-PC games then I play super smash brothers almost daily on my N64 emulator with my friends, along with Rush 2, goldeneye, Mario kart and mario party 3.
