i have a Gainward 4200 128MB 8x card @ 290/600 running UT2K4 on 1024x768 with AA/AF @ 2xQ and 2x, all high quality texture settings in the drivers, and in the game. i have no slow down whats so ever.

But i would like to replace the fan on this card, does anyone know if a good cooler to change it with?? something that would fit right in it with little to no modifications required. thanks

I just stuck a silent Panaflo 80mm fan infront of mine, and removed the small fan on the unit. However, it has a copper heatsink plate on it.

Give it a shot neverless.

It's too bad I had to put this bad boy to rest, over two years and it was money well spent. Hopefully it will find a new home in some elses computer.

Good buy old friend, you will be missed. 🙁

Aint that the truth!

Still running my Ti4400 GF4 128MB really really well considering. Runs BF really well since the get go. Even runs BF Vietnam quite nicely (though have to bring the settings down just a tad).

Like Nox said, I am going to miss this sweet little one. I have been holding onto it, and don't want to let go. Course, I am about to upgrade my computer with the works...Socket 939, NV40, 3700+, etc. My backup box will always have the mighty Ti 4400 as it's bread and butter.

🙁 Old friend, indeed.

I replaced mine with a Vantec Iceberq 4 when the stock fan got to noisy. It is a nice beefy copper cooler with a mirror-smooth finish out of the box. It even has a blue LED in the fan, which is pretty quiet and comes with some pretty decent thermal compound and a set of RAM sinks (which were just the right size for one to fit my A7N8X-Deluxe MCP-T chip). The cooler runs around $15-$20 shipped. It should fit your card fine so long as Gainward didn't deviate too much from the reference GF4 design.

I am still running my GF4 Ti4400 and it does exceptionally well to this day... it's overclocked a bit past Ti4600 speeds and has been for over a year and a half now.

I'm using a 9600 XT now, from a GF4 at 300/620.
To all who have GF4 cards: wait! Even w/ AA & AF, nothing under a 9800 Pro is a worthy upgrade (and I used AA & AF on my GF4!).

Yeah, my Ti4200 is still running solid. I'm not planning on upgrading until either Doom 3 or Half-Life 2 came out, so I've obviously been waiting for awhile 🙂

Same here lol! Geforce 4 Mx420: UT2k4 just fine and CoD just fine. Mind you none of that flashy AA/AF or alot of texturing/resolution but it does play at 1024x768 silky smooth!
