I did it.Finally I bought it.The a7n8xdeluxe v2.0 everybody is so excited about.
I have an option of 1700+A and 2400+B to ride this board.Which one is preferable?(I live in warm climate,no AC,summer46 degrees c max room temp).
I have 512*2 PC2700 Kingston Ram ,7200RPM ,80 GB Samsung HDD to go with it.(I wanted WD800JB but their service and warranty is lousy)

Please dispense some words of wisdom regarding

Bios set up to get the max out of the system,(I intend to run it with bundled HSF and one case exhaust fan),

Overclocking if any(I have never overclocked till now,I never had a board which could.)

and other significant thing.BASICALLY SOME DOs AND DON'Ts.

And what is the difference between A stepping and B stepping of Athlon processors?

All inputs will be highly appreciated.TAM in Advance

If you're overclocking, the 2400+.

The A Stepping Tbreds are a lower yeild version, which will not overclock as well as the Tbred Bs in 98% of the cases.

In the BIOS, try setting the memory to the lowest possible settings. This will increase performance anywhere from 4-8% usually.

Run your memory synchronously to the FSB.

Since you're using the stock heatsink, be conservative with the voltages. Do not ever go over 1.85v, especially with the stock heatsink.

Stability wise, run Memtest86 overnight and Prime95 + for example an endless loop of UT2003 overnight. Or if you can, do some DIVX encoding.

Happy overclocking, and remember, you're taking a risk by doing this, so if you fvck things up, its nobodys fault but your own.
