ATLANTA-- Patrick Ewing and Dikembe Mutombo are used to being on the basketball court.

A few weeks from now, they could be among several professional athletes in another court -- Federal court. Although not charged with any crime, Ewing and Mutombo have been subpoenaed to testify about sexual encounters with dancers at an Atlanta strip club named the Gold Club, a club at the center of an organized crime case. For league officials, it raises the question, were athletes and the mob too close for comfort?

mount mutombo also serves as some kind of united nations level diplomat or envoy (i think on behalf of unicef) for his native country - uganda, i think- during the off-season. he's helped
on grassroots disarmament talks as a populist intermediary and 'good will ambassador', and
has paid for and organized food air lifts. this guy has a huge upside. i think this dude has earned forgivance for any minor indulgences, as these possible trysts with exotic dancers would be, imho.

Professional athletes playing with exotic dancers? I am Shocked. Where are the guys our kids can look up like I did like Lawrence Taylor, Daryl Strawberry, Steve Howe, on OJ Simpson. True Pillars of the community.

If you are at all surprised by this story you having been watching very long.

Oh and BTW they are looking at these players as Witnesses, Even if they were incolved with a lil somethin' somethin' there will more than likely ne no charges against the athletes. WOW!!

Hey, why should we hold athletes to a higher standard than ex pres Bill Clinton, after all he did it in the Whitehouse.

Seems to me society's standards get lesser and lesser and tolerate more and more. Even if Ewing and Mutombo are convicted of anything they''ll be on the basketball court in a couple days.
