I saw United 93 this afternoon. I would say the producers, admitted Liberals to Mr. Druggie Rush Limbaugh BTW, did a fantastic job. They probably were as accurate as unclassified documents and eye-witness accounts would allow them to be. In fact, many of the "actors" in the film were played by the real people who attempted to manage the unfolding crisis that morning. Simply put, the movie is a look at that one flight, from beginning to end, from the viewpoint of the passengers, pilots, four terrorists, and the air traffic control (NORAD, FAA, etc.). No spin. No politics.
How did the film affect me? I personally walked out angry and pissed off. Was I the only one? I doubt it, judging by the sobbing woman behind me and the man sitting in front of me who punched the armrest of his chair repeatedly with his fist.
I walked out thinking, this movie should be required viewing for every single (adult) American. Then I began to ask myself, why wouldn't an (adult) American WANT see this film? I thought of several reasons:
1) It's depressing. It'll make you angry. Not exactly great reasons to spend $10 and two hours of your life. (I would imagine most people fit into this category.)
2) Only 10% of the opening weekend's proceeds go to charity! WTF? No way am I supporting that!

Anyway, time to rattle the old P&N bee hive! I'm sure I'll wake up in the morning to some colorful responses. FYI, the movie is currently scoring 93% at RottenTomatoes.com.
