How do you know Earp wasn't like that for real? Costner played the better Earp, I think Russell is the better actor in general but Costner was more true to the role.

I don't know that. But I'd rather watch a movie involving a more interesting portrayal of the main character than a dull portrayal, even if it's more inaccurate... if I want accuracy I'll watch a documentary 😛

Russell's was certainly more entertaining. But who is to say Costner wasn't more accurate. I loved Tombstone, but it was a pretty fairy tale version of things.

Yeah, Tombstone was the more entertaining of the two Wyatt Earp films. Costner's version is supposed to be more accurate (as accurate as Hollywood can get anyway) but was just boring as hell IMHO.

I agree Kilmer made Tombstone, but I also think that Dennis Quaid made Wyatt Earp.
Doc Holiday is just an awesome movie character IMO
