Most National Lampoon's movies aren't really spoofs, IMO. Vacation? Dad's Day Off? Can't think of any others.

Overall I thought it very hilarious. The gags and jokes were all well done. My only beef with it:

In traditional Hollywood style they had to incorporate a love story. Toward the end of the movie, the jokes and comedic hijinks took a back seat to this sappy love story. I dont' mind love stories one bit, but it was overdone in Van Wilder.

Love story or not, the movie made me laugh and had plent of gorgeous women. Thumb's up from me.

Tara Reid doesn't do it for me (I don't like blondes...except for Meg Ryan). I likeb that freshman brunette that Van was gettin' it on with when Tara Reid walked in and got all upset.

There was a collective SCHAWING from the male audience when that chick appeared on the screen (this was on campus at a pre-screening).
