There are also people who cut off their penis and shove a red hot poker up their ass, that's their thing. But I'm sure as hell not going to respect their looney decisions.

Sometimes people need to fess up that they did something really stupid instead of asking the world to accept their bizarre habits.

I understand why people would buy $600 jeans, but i wouldnt..unless i won the lottery.
I understand that badge whores like to pay money for things that don't have any real worth in them, but that isn't the point here. It's not about spending $50k on an old coin with collector's value. This is about spending a large sum of money on something _that can be produced and sold for a fraction of what you're paying for it_.

Welcome to the free market. They prices are what they are because people have displayed a willingness to pay them for one reason or another. This applies to any other product.

I may think it is insane to pay $600 for a pair of Jeans, but I would drop $10-20K on the right kind of firearm without batting an eye provided I had the means. Some people certainly think that would be insane.

perhaps it's $600 because of all the "work" that has gone into these jeans to produce them? I don't know how they are made for anything so I can't say too much about it. maybe people are paying for the materials, and time spent on making these jeans $600.

just a thought :p

All I know for certain is that I'm glad I'm not married to her. Talk about high maintenance!

Would you spend $10-20k on that firearm if the same one could be had for $1-2k? Probably not.

It's their money. Let the celebrities/wealthy people spend their money as their wish, no matter how ridiculous their spending habits are. How they spend thier money is none of our business.

I might actually, it depends who manufactured it and when.
Besides, the chances of finding an IDENTICAL firearm available at both prices is basically zero.

This is what goes into 600 dollar jeans.

To start with, Evisu weaves its cloth on shuttle looms that, unlike the projectile type in widespread industrial use, leave clean edges on the fabric. They are then dyed using what the label's Web site terms "rare and ancient" equipment, meaning machines that are roughly 40 years old.

Each Evisu garment is given 16 and sometimes as many as 30 "dips" to achieve the proper rich shade of deep indigo blue. And, because the old looms are narrow, each pair of Evisus requires at least three yards of fabric. The end result, with a stylized gull stitched onto the rear pocket, costs in the vicinity of $635. Not for nothing, it would seem, is Evisu named after the Japanese god of loot.

Quite a few, in fact, won't blink an eye at dropping $100-200 on denim.

Womens clothing is typically priced higher...anyway.

wtf, $360 for ripped jeans? (look @ article... the 'true religion' jeans)

While the evisu's aren't bad looking (they'd look better without the art, even if it is 'hand-painted'), I wouldn't pay more than $60 for a pair of jeans.

I laugh at people who spend money on something that can be had for a tiny fraction of the price. You see, if you're paying $600 for a handbag, for instance, and I can buy a generic knock off of the same one for $30 and it looks exactly the same, I win and you lose. People are dumb.

the $600 bag will last for life

the knock offs from canal street will tear up in a few months

i had a friend who always complains to me that i waste my money. (i have dual monitors, i enjoy eating steak at mortons, however a lot of my money is saved because i refuse to buy any clothing over 20 bucks, unless its last min and i need something for an interview or whatever) My friend on the other hand likes her $800 bags, $100 jeans, and $60 cloths. I argue with her that when i buy my monitors, or computer, I know what I'm getting and its never top of the line, i purchase what is neccessary, AND when she buys her clothes, about 70% of it is just "brand", just to get that feeling of "oh yea i am wearing expensive clothing"

She also mentioned that her bags will last forever (which is why i bring this up), which i find to be complete BS, because styles go out and these girls will buy new $800 bags when they come. I've seen her not use a bag anymore, because she just doesn't like it anymore, or it isn't "in" anymore. So yes these bags last forever, but their style won't!

I was in a Diesel shop. They had some nice pair of Jeans at £80 or so. BUT they had a really sweet pair at £150.
They would have been perfect but I couldn't justify paying paying ALMOST DOUBLE for them though! f0ck that!

They were the best looking pair and the fabric was really good. BUT in all honesty all my jeans feel great anyway.
The colours and design are different but an extra £50? Too much for me...

womens clothing are never priced higher then mens. men do not buy as much clothes as women, so men's clothing are always higher.

Some people would think a $600 video card is stupid or trivial. I mean, I'm wearing a pair of $9 jeans right now but, still, people are different and if they have the money, why judge them? If she sold her kids into slavery to buy jeans, then fine.. But if she's spending $600 on jeans she probably has a heck of a lot more of an income than you or I. Proportionately, the $600 probably doesn't mean much to her.

I do think $600 vid cards are for morons, or very rich people, because the performance premium of one over $400 is negligible, realistically. Nonetheless, if you spend $600 on a vid card you can't get the same performance for $100 can you? There is always a premium on the best. Would you pay, however, $600 for a vid card if you could get the same one by a no-name manufacturer (that worked just as well) for $60? I think not. That's what people do when they pay for crap that can be easily knocked off by some sweat labourer in china.

I'm free to mock them for spending more than ten times the normal price for a normal item. How they spend their money is our business when they're whoring it out, showing it on MTV Cribs, dropping names in songs/raps, etc--they're not trying to keep it secret or anything.

I buy my jeans from the Gap outlet. $20-$25, although the same jeans are $55-$60 at a regular Gap store.
