Who paid the ump?!

I've been an umpire for little leaguee (it pays really well), and I probably either would have yelled at him to get out of the way, or pulled him out of the way.

******, some of the kids are just plain stupid.

One kid pitched before i had my mask on and it went wild and almost hit me, and he kept on doing it and i threw him out of the game. It really sucked to have to do it causse the kid was only like 12 years old.

What do you mean "paid the ump?" He saved the kid from getting trampled on. I know how that feels. I was playing catcher when I was ~12 and I had the ball. Standing on the plate this guy twice my weight just comes barreling through. I was knocked down and couldn't breath for a few seconds. The good thing was, the ball was still in my hand.

Yep, ump did the right thing.

Get the batter out of the way.

thats exactly what JT Snow did in the world series against the angels in 2002 or 2003 when dusty bakers kid almost got run over at the plate going to pick up a bat.
the ump was just trying to keep the kid from getting blindsided

What a great ump. He didn't take his eyes of the play and still grabbed the kid and managed to toss him a good few feet. It looks like he still made the call at the end too 😀

Im sure it was a reaction thing, but he threw that kid pretty far.

Yeah it was a reaction, a no thought reaction - a good ump taking care of the kids.

Get the kid out of the path of the train/plate. You gotta understand, the runner is trying to knock the crap out of the catcher.

WTF that kid was stupid! i will stand here and get ran over! yeah good idea.

OK yeah i know they look 10 or so. but comon just to stand there? sheesh
