Subject: ATI TV Wonder PCI
To whom it may concern:
I am a very dissatisfied owner of the ATI TV Wonder PCI, which I have been
unable to use for over 6 months due to a lack of Windows 2000 drivers.
I understand that the software is under development (or so the website
says) but 6 months is way too long, especially when ATI's drivers
department is constantly churning out device drivers for your other
products. I have come to the decision that I would like ATI to buy-back
the ATI TV Wonder PCI from me, for the full price that I paid at CompUSA.
($89.99 US dollars) Your company's delay and outright refusal to support
Windows 2000 is appalling and will not be tolerated any longer.
Please either 1) arrange for a buy-back, or 2) have a manager contact me
directly for discussion and to arrange a buy-back.
Do NOT reply with "I am sorry, we are unable to buy-back your
product. Please be patient and wait for the drivers to come out" as that
is an answer I will not have. In other words, consider my reply to that to
be "I am sorry, I am unable to wait any longer and this product is
absolutely useless in my system." I work in customer service and I often
deal with irate customers, but we always find a way to meet either in the
middle or fully satisfy the customer in another way, even if it
occasionally means bending policies and making exceptions. I expect that
same courtesy from your customer service, hence, I am allowing a manager to
contact me directly to discuss other options.
I may be reached at XXX.XXX.XXXX, or through e-mail at this address.
I look forward to your reply.
Sincerely,
Kenneth
I received, on August 28th:
Kenneth,
I am sorry to hear of your situation.
We appreciate your support on the purchase of the ATI-TV Wonder product
however Windows 2000 driver support was not listed on the product gift box
or in sales information on the web page as being supported.
As you can appreciate multimedia drivers for any product can be difficult
and take time. Windows 2000 drivers to support the ATI-TV Wonder boards are
forth coming however setbacks in the development of the Multimedia center
software has delayed the release of the drivers. We will continue to update
the Windows 2000 FAQ with the progress of the ATI-TV Wonder drivers for
Windows 2000.
We are aware of the urgency in the release of these drivers for you and our
other customers. ATI does not have a return/refund policy.
Thank you for contacting Win2K Feedback.
So, I have already tried, and failed. If we can all team up and yell at them maybe they'll budge.
