I'm getting out of the G35 coupe mindset, because I don't feel like having a $700 car payment. New style Mustang owners, would you recommend one? I'm looking at a dark red GT, 5 speed.

Don't forget to factor in MPG & the cost of gas :)

The G35 gets about 1 MPG more than the GT, but the G35 requires premium while the GT runs on regular.

I'm 6'4", so I probably won't have an issue with that.

Let us know what you think... Last summer I drove the (rental) base version of the car, and hated it (and I've been a Mustang owner in the past). The interior felt cheap, and the visibility sucked, meaning that you didn't have a good sense of where the car was when making turns, etc. I ended up buying a GTO, and love that.

Nah, it'll still seem tall. Just the way the car is.

I'm back. I liked it. It isn't anywhere close to the G35 in terms of luxury, but in terms of pure power and awesomeness, it rocked. I think I'll be purchasing it, and it will be about $10,000 cheaper than the G35.

My friends sister just got one, the thing is SICK. I'd highly recommend it, it looks great, interior is awesome with leather, and even the upgraded stock rims look great.

Good luck. It looks like a fun car and I considered it but I didn't want to spend as much as it was for the GT and I didn't want to get a Mustang with the lesser engine.

I've rented a 2005 Mustang GT while on business before and I didn't care for it. The hood sits too high, thus you feel like you are actually in a pickup truck than a sports car. I also found the layout of the interior rather unappealing and cramped. Overall, I wouldn't own one, but they do sound nice when you pin the accelerator to the floor and let the engine open up.

I do have to echo the hood height & visibility complaints. Interior is pretty poor too.

But goddamn is it hard not to grin when you let that V8 have its way.

the high cowl, long hood/short rear deck is standard pony car fare. remember, this is a Mustang, not a civic.

I have to take my Expedition in for recall work Thursday.
They have a frickin CHERRY convert sitting in the showroom. You know, typical showroom floor model. Fully loaded GT convert, birght yellow.

I'm gonna be real tempted to take her out for a quick spin while I'm waiting for my car.....

Too bad the sticker is 34. Way more then I'd pay for a GT, regardless off all the show n go it has.

Holy crap! That's a lot of rain. Does it seriously rain that much up there? Sorry for the ignorance, but the farthest west I've ever been is near St. Louis.

Yes, it does.

The Portland metro area is trapped between the Pacific ocean & a mountain range.
