i'vwe beginning to read about people saying googlegear is as good as newegg, but shipping is only $0.50!

is it sponsored by google? or just a blatant ripoff of the googgle name?

Don't know if it is a rip-off, but definitely not related to google.com. I've never had a problem with them except their tech-support suxors and hardly anyone speaks english.

AFAIK it's totally unrelated to Google the search engine, but I've had good luck ordering from them.

I've ordered from there as well with no hassles.

Googlegear has slow shipping !?

I ordered 2 packages from Newegg and Googlegear at the same time (sunday afternoon with FedEx Saver), and the googlegear package arrived 1 day eariler than newegg.

I ordered my ram, CPU, and mobo from googlegear a few months ago. They had better prices than Newegg. :Q

I ordered Win XP, a PSU and rounded cables from them a few weeks ago and received everything quickly with no hassles. I think some of the OEM items might be a bit squirrelly (e.g., I know they, like many other vendors, sell non-Samsung Original DDR RAM), but generally I was impressed and would use them again.

I bunch of freaking crooks that take no responsibility for their shipping department.

Then when I tried to resolve it, I couldn't get a single person that spoke some semblance of the English languge.

I'm still out $170 and will forever be bitter about it.

Take your business elsewhere if you can.

I ordered a CPU from them a few years ago, long before google was popular. So, they're definitely not a ripoff of the google name.

XFILE, "google" isn't a word in the English language according to MW , perhaps it's just slang

It's apparently a misspelling of "googol" which is a 1 followed by 100 zeroes, although I always thought "googol" was spelled "google."
